Pam Velez

I am a holistic health coach, certified yoga instructor, and clean living expert working in beautiful Tampa, FL. My journey in holistic healing began years ago as I was leaving a doctor’s office with my five year old daughter and the six prescriptions the doctor claimed my daughter needed to be okay. I had an “aha” moment. I knew that there had to be a better way to get my asthmatic, highly allergic, daughter better. Ever since that moment I have viewed my health challenges and those of my loved ones differently. I find the cause of the problem rather than putting a band-aid on it. If you are sitting on a tack, do you take an aspirin for the pain, or do you pull out the tack?

My mission is to spread the truth that people have control over their health, no matter what the condition. I cured myself of hypothyroid disease and polycystic ovary disease, without pharmaceuticals, by changing my diet and lifestyle. I want to help you live the happy, fulfilled life you deserve.

I welcome the opportunity to discuss how my corporate wellness workshops and yoga classes can help increase productivity, decrease absenteeism and reduce the need for medical care. Contact me to schedule an initial consultation.

Training

I received my training as a health coach from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition’s cutting edge Health Coach Training Program.

During my training, I studied over 100 dietary theories, practical lifestyle management techniques, and innovative coaching methods with some of the world’s top health and wellness experts. My teachers included Dr. Andrew Weil, Director of the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine; Dr. Deepak Chopra, leader in the field of mind-body medicine; Dr. David Katz, Director of Yale University’s Prevention Research Center; Dr. Walter Willett, Chair of Nutrition at Harvard University; Geneen Roth, bestselling author and expert on emotional eating; and many other leading researchers and nutrition authorities.

My education has equipped me with extensive knowledge in holistic nutrition, health coaching, and preventive health. Drawing on these skills and my knowledge of different dietary theories, I work with clients to help them make lifestyle changes that produce real and lasting results.

In addition, I have over 500 hours of training and am a certified yoga instructor through Yoga Alliance (RYT 500). I love learning and have had the opportunity to study with some amazing teachers. Some of my training includes:  Divine Sleep Yoga Nidra, with Jennifer Reis; Advanced Pranayama, with Larissa Carlson; Iyengar Training with Karin Stephan; Prenatal Training with Jacci Grunninger; Yoga for Depression with Amy Weintraub, Senior Yoga, and Restorative Yoga.   In addition I have studied with Sean Corn, and Wah!
